License prep for Rhode Island –  Any operator using hoisting or excavation equipment which uses  steam, internal combustion engines, electric, or compressed air of five (5) horsepower or more and/or can lift more than five hundred pounds (500 lbs.) to obtain a license, per Rhode Island General Laws 28-26-5.
